ISMISS TURKEY Chapter
Apart from regular ISMISS biannual symposiums in Philadelphia (USA) and annual meetings in Zurich (Switzerland), recent years have witnessed establishment of country chapters and their periodical meetings and courses worldwide. ISMISS Turkish chapter was founded in 2005 at SICOT Istanbul Meeting (*). After years of discontinuous membership status of the registered members, and limited contribution of Turkish surgeons; the chapter has been reconstituted on December 22nd 2012 in Istanbul, with the strong presence of many academic spine surgeons (see the photo below). In that meeting, Professor A. Fahir Özer was elected as the head of the chapter and ISMISS Turkey representative by the votes of all presenting members.
