Case study

This 39-year-old male patient presented with complaints of right arm pain and numbness that started 3 weeks ago. The patient's neurological examination was found to be normal. MRI examinations (below) revealed a disc herniation at the C6-7 level.

MRG1 MRG2
Treatment
The patient underwent transforaminal epidural injection at the right C6-7 level under fluoroscopy control.

Result
The patient's pain complaint showed a significant improvement. At the 2nd week follow-up, the pain had decreased by 80% and there was no need to use painkillers.

Conclusion
This case illustrates that in cases of soft disc herniation in the cervical region, if the duration of complaints is short and there are no neurological findings, it is appropriate to wait by providing pain control.
Transforaminal epidural injection is effective in pain control.
